Mentorship
Practical experience of the knowledge and techniques we have shared is important to us. We routinely award small grants to journalists and assign a mentor to the recipients or news teams. Our mentors have collectively contributed over 3,600 hours of mentorship over the last five years.
At the Media Institute of the Caribbean, mentorship is at the heart of our educational approach. We believe that nurturing emerging talent through meaningful, hands-on guidance is key to building the region’s next leaders in media, journalism, and creative technologies. Our mentorship programs are designed to connect students and young professionals with experienced industry experts who offer personalized advice, support, and real-world perspectives. Through this collaborative process, mentees gain the skills, confidence, and networks they need to thrive in a rapidly evolving media landscape.
Whether you are a practicing journalist, a student just starting your media journey or a media professional seeking career advancement, our mentorship program provides the expertise and encouragement needed to achieve your goals
