The leadership team has produced and managed conferences for as many as 400 participants to smaller group workshops of up to 50 people.

MIC has conducted close to 150 online workshops and sessions for as many as 200 participants at a time.

With a strong leadership team, we have led and implemented projects for entities such as Internews, PCI Media, Open Society Foundations, UNESCO and others.  Our work has also extended beyond our region to assist other entities who require the foundation and institutional knowledge to chart their own course.

Pilot project of UNESCO”s Media Viability Indicators (Lite version) 

Disinformation in the Caribbean – An Overview. A project by Public Media Alliance (PMA) led by MIC and the Association of Caribbean Media Workers. 

We are able to source experts and researchers and manage regional projects.

Practical experience of the knowledge and techniques we have shared is important to us. We routinely award small grants to journalists and assign a mentor to the recipients or news teams.  Our mentors have collectively contributed over 3,600 hours of mentorship over the last five years.

Small newsrooms and independent journalists across the Caribbean face significant challenges due to limited resources and funding constraints. At the Media Institute of the Caribbean (MIC), we recognize these obstacles and are committed to supporting their vital work.
